A new concept in metal recycling has come to North Olmsted: Recycle
Zone, located just east of the Stearns-Crocker Rd. extension at
28820 Lorain Rd. The concept is a drive-thru facility located outside
of an industrial area that allows anyone to recycle for
cash all
kinds of metals and other materials in a clean, well-lit facility.
Materials that are commonly brought in for recycling include appliances
such as refrigerators and air conditioners (including properly
recycling the ozone-depleting Freon), aluminum cans, old sinks
and faucets, screen doors, and even junk automobiles. Recycle Zone
pays for lead acid batteries (the type used in cars), farm equipment,
motorcycles, and boats. Computers and all of the ancillary equipment,
such as printers, copiers, and servers, are also accepted, as well
as aluminum siding, copper wire, and tubing. Recycling these materials
keeps them out of landfills and provides a more energy efficient
way to reuse the earth's resources.
Recycle Zone is the second drive-thru recycling center operated
by the parent company, Bluestar Metal Recycling, which has been
in the recycling business for over 100 years. The original drive-thru
site is still operating at Williams and Buckeye streets in Elyria,
Ohio.
Visit Recycle Zone on the web at www.Recyclezoneusa.com for complete
information about the location, a full list of materials they accept,
and a sheet with current pricing information for popular items.
