More ways to get involved with the Obama campaign and congressional
races
This year is going to be one of the most exciting and empowering
election years for the environmental community. The Sierra Club’s
Blue Team is ramping up this season and coordinating with candidates
who are working hard to create a clean energy future and to protect
our planet.
The Sierra Club has endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President
and will be supporting a few of the congressional races in the
state, including John Bocceri (OH-16)
and the Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15). These candidates share our concerns, values and
vision for a clean energy future and will be able to provide real solutions to
America’s energy and economic problems. There will be six political organizers
stationed across the state, working diligently to promote and garner support
for these candidates.
Additionally, the Sierra Club is looking to engage you, our Sierra
Club members, to volunteer with these campaigns. Participate in
a phone bank, canvass around
your neighborhood, help with outreach– help us educate voters about the
importance of clean energy and environmental issues this election. Moreover,
build support for Obama and our congressional candidates-- help them get elected.
If you are interested in volunteering
for the coordinated political work, please contact MacKenzie Bailey,
Lead Organizer for the Ohio
Blue Team, for more information.
