Some members of Sierra Club’s Northeast
Ohio (NEO) group who live outside of Cuyahoga County have communicated
that they feel unwanted. True, we have held most of our committee
meetings, public programs, and activities in Cuyahoga County. We'd
like to change that. We know ALL of our members have something
to contribute, and we want to offer more opportunities to participate.
For example, would you like the NEO group to hold some of our monthly
programs (speakers/slide shows) in your area? Would you like us
to lead hikes in your area? Would you like to host a house party?
Would you like to be more active by communicating with your elected
officials, by writing letters to the editor, or by joining a committee?
If you have an idea or see a need, please let us know. There are
many possibilities and we need your help! The NEO group includes
Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, and Lorain counties.

The City of Cleveland's 
Do you know of a local environmental issue in need
of attention? Do you have inside information on what's
going on in your city or township? With over 5,000
members in Northeast Ohio we count on you to be the
Club's eyes and ears of the region. While the Federal
government and large corporations continue to wreak
havoc on our environment, it is more important than
ever before to act as watchdogs in our own backyards.
For those new to
calling state or federal representatives, it's easier and
less confrontational than it sounds. You will never
speak directly with your rep or senator - an aide
will answer the phone, take brief notes plus your name and city (sometimes), and that's it.
