LITTLE MIAMI INDEED FACES DIRE THREAT

Chris Curran raises concern over an imperative local issue in her "Your voice" column "Little Miami bridge raises health issues" (June 23). Ohio currently has the worst industry-caused air pollution in the nation, with two of the top five polluting cities in the United States. Hamilton County puts more than 14 billion gallons of untreated sewage into our local waterways annually.

The Little Miami River is one of three national state and scenic rivers in Ohio, and Cincinnati's only. As we prepare to spend $2 billion in sewer improvements geared to clean up our rivers, we are simultaneously about to devastate one of the true gems of our community.
