LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

AUTHOR'S SWIM ACROSS OHIO RIVER HAS OPENED EYES

It seems as if every time I open the paper there is another article on Lynne Cox and her swim across the Ohio River.

Roughly over 150 people turned out to see the acclaimed author and athlete dive into the river accompanied by five Cincinnati locals earlier this month.

Evidently the presence of this international hero has awakened many people's sensibilities to the Ohio River's true potential as a recreational resource.

After the swim Ms. Cox told me that the river would be a great place to train for the Olympics.

The attention that this event has generated shows that Lynne is not alone.
