Water Quality Standards
NEWS UPDATE:
After many months of hard word and dedication by residents and local environmental groups Sierra Club, Rivers Unlimited, Ohio River Foundation, Kentucky Waterways Alliance and West Virginia Rivers Coalition, ORSANCO finally decided to table the proposal to lower water quality standards for the Ohio River.
After postponing the vote in June because of the vast amount of adverse public comment, the Commission decided to table the proposal due to the large amount of public concern. Congratulations and thank you to all of you who wrote letters, came to public hearings and mailed in postcards. You truly made a difference! Click here for the story.
