Sunday, May 26 -- Hocking Hills Day Hike, Ratings, Ratings: E/S 3/4
Time: 9:00 AM. This is a dog friendly hike. If you haven't been to this part of the state, or even if you have, the scenery in and around Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Rose Lake, and Ash Cave is unequaled for its beauty and serenity. You will see and learn about the gritty, reddish stone, called Blackhand Sandstone, all over the park, and how it was left behind more than 200 million year ago when Ohio’s ancient ocean drained from the land. We will be hiking 12 miles at a brisk pace and tackle some challenging hills so be prepared for a vigorous day. Bring lunch, water and hiking boots and meet behind McDonalds at Route 33 and Gender Rd. Contact leader for further information.
