Here you will find general information and meeting times for most Central Ohio Sierra Club committee meetings. All Sierra Club meetings are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. If you have an agenda item for a committee meeting, please contact that committee's chair.

Central Ohio Group (COG) Executive Committee

First Wednesdays: Mar. 7, Apr. 4, May 2

Meets the first Wed. of most months. Meetings are held in Room A of the Upper Arlington Public Library, 2800 Tremont Road. Contact Kelli Drummer-Avendano at 614-327-4713 or for further information or if you have a subject you would like to speak to us about.

COG Conservation Committee

Third Wednesdays: Mar. 21, Apr. 18

Conservation subcommittee representatives and interested individuals meet at 6:30 pm on the third Wed. of most months at the Clintonville Community Resources Center, 14 W. Lakeview. Contact ConsCom Chair Bob Kyle at 614-855-1600 or for more information or if you have an agenda item.

Sierra Club Volunteer Nights

Tuesdays, March 13 & 27, April 10 & 24

In 2007 the Sierra Club's Building Environmental Communities (BEC) Program will be working in multiple Central Ohio communities to promote local solutions to global warming. Also, BEC Volunteer Nights are being held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6-8pm at the Sierra Club office downtown, 131 N. High St., Suite 605. Please contact 614-461-0734 x 305 if you will be coming for the first time.

"Green Book Club" Forming!

In an effort to stay on top of the newest works on global warming, energy and the environment, the Sierra Club is launching a Green Book Club. Members of the book club will read the same book each month (or two) and then meet to discuss the highlights of the book. To be part of the Green Book Club contact Teresa McHugh at 614-461-0734 x 302 or . You don't have to be a Sierra Club member to participate.

Energy Film Festival-Sat., March 10

The Sierra Club's Building Environmental Communities (BEC) program will host an Energy and Environmental Film Festival from 12-6 pm at the Drexel Gateway, 1550 N. High St. The event is free and open to the public, and will include such films as The Appalachians, The Day the Water Died, Earth to America, Hurricanes On the Brink, Kilowatt Ours, Nobelity, The Power of Community and The True Cost of Food.
