COG Election Results

By , Sierra Club Conservation Organizer

Our fall election brought 5 new members to our Executive Committee! We are pleased to welcome Meghan Davis, Don Kleinhenz, Ryan Mason, Paul Mazur and Steve McCaw to this leadership position. The election returned Doug Calem to the ExCom for a second term. These 6 join 5 ExCom members whose terms were held over: Melanie Braithwaite, David Hornyak, Barb Hykes, Morgen Kuberek and Jennifer Ramsey.

Retiring from the ExCom are Cliff Boggs; Kelli Drummer-Avendano, a past chair; and Bob Kyle, who served for 3 years as our Conservation Chair. We owe a great debt of gratitude to them for guiding our environmental efforts with steady and dedicated hands.

At our January and February ExCom meetings the following officers were selected for 2009: Chair, Barb Hykes; Vice Chair & Secretary, Doug Calem; Treasurer, David Hornyak; Representative to the Ohio Chapter, Ryan Mason; Conservation Chair, Steve McCaw; Political Chair, Melanie Braithwaite; Publications Chair, Morgen Kuberek; Outings Chair, John Fiske. Jennifer Ramsey was selected to be the Monthly Program Coordinator.

We are seeking volunteers for two positions: Membership Chair and Fundraising Committee.

The primary duty of the Membership Chair is to coordinate the tracking of and reaching out to new and old members alike, as well as to help organize new member events such as picnics, potlucks or hikes. The Fundraising Committee is also in need of members. If you wish to find out more about these positions, contact or .

The Sierra Club is doing a project for Earth Day, April 18. (See the article Picture This, Earth Day 2009) We need volunteers to help plan as well as volunteers for the day. If you have available time or creative ideas, please contact .
