After a long awaited victory, Sierra Club is pleased to
welcome endorsed candidates Mary Jo Kilroy and Marian
Harris to their newly elected positions.
Newly elected member of Congress Mary Jo Kilroy led the
vote by 2,311 against Steve Stivers. This was just over
the 1/2% margin that would have required a recount. The
results for the 15th Congressional District were finally
announced December 7 after lawsuits were decided and
provisional ballots were counted. Marian Harris will
take her seat in the Ohio House after defeating her
opponent Brad Lewis with a 735 vote lead out of a total
of approximately 70,000 votes. Both Mary Jo Kilroy and
Marian Harris are Sierra Club members and long-time
friends of the environment. The Sierra Club is excited
to work with them both to create green jobs, boost our
economy and address global warming as we move toward a
new clean green energy economy.
