Charlie Fredrick Joins Sierra Staff
By
We would like to welcome Charlie
Fredrick, our new Sierra Club employee who is working
with the Building Environmental Community program in the
Columbus office. As a Regional Conservation Recruiter,
Charlie will be organizing events and skills trainings,
as well as working to promote Sierra Club's Building
Environmental Communities and Cool Cities programs.
Charlie comes to us from
ForestEthics, where he worked as a grassroots campaign
organizer for the successful Victoria's Dirty Secret
Campaign targeting Limited Brands for their use of
endangered forest fiber in their flagship Victoria's
Secret catalogs. He was an active member in the Sierra
Student Coalition for several years and held leadership
positions in that organization, including Midwest
Regional Coordinator and Executive Committee member. In
2005 he was awarded the Joseph Barbosa Earth Fund Award,
which recognizes a Sierra Club member under the age of
30 for their role in organizing a network of
environmental activists in the Midwest for the Sierra
Student Coalition.
In his free time, Charlie enjoys
volunteering for a number of social justice and
environmental groups, namely the Buckeye Forest Council
and Food Not Bombs. Contact him .
