Ohio Sierra Club Partners with Aveda for Earth Month

By

The Aveda Institute Columbus is an affiliate training location that also offers salon and spa services with Aveda products. The Institute is located at 1618 Neil Ave. in Columbus (614) 291-2421.

The Aveda Institute Columbus has volunteered to raise donations during April and May 2007 for Ohio Sierra Club clean water work.

Aveda hopes to raise $30,000 through donated tips, a percentage of appointments, “Jeans for Greens”, and a fashion event on Tuesday May 8. Earth Jam 07 Fashion Night will take place at the Drexel Gateway Theater Conference Center; 1550 North High St. in Columbus. There will be models presenting student fashion creations, an art auction, and a fashion team from New York. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door (VIP tickets are $50/$75). For advance tickets call 614-291-2421 ext. 1100. Doors will open at 6 pm and the fashion show starts at 7 pm.

Aveda contacted Ohio Sierra Club because of our clean water work in Central Ohio. Donations that Aveda raises will enable the Sierra Club to continue clean water work in the future. We are excited to have a great partner that supports our work. Consider going to Aveda Institute to get that shampoo, cut, facial, manicure, makeup advice, or body/skin work (see website and telephone above).

Come to the Earth Jam Fashion Night on Tuesday May 8. See you there!

About Aveda

Aveda is an international provider of environmentally friendly health and beauty products and services. Aveda’s vision is environmental sustainability. The company has committed to continuous improvement following the CERES Principles, which include protection of the biosphere, sustainable use of natural resources, reduction of waste, energy conservation, and environmental restoration.

Aveda relies on plant-based ingredients rather than synthetics. Where possible, they use organic crops traced back to traditional communities around the world. They promote responsible packaging, safe product manufacturing, and responsible corporate practices. Wind power offsets are purchased for the electricity used at the primary manufacturing facility. The company as a whole raises money for environmental causes during Earth Month.
