Six dedicated environmentalists
were elected to the Central Ohio Sierra Club ExCom in
December. Cliff Boggs and Bob Kyle were re-elected,
while Laura Armstrong, Doug Calem, Tad Dritz, and Kelli
Drummer-Avendano are new to the ExCom in 2007. We would
also like to express our gratitude to Ken Scott and
Margaret Wright for being excellent candidates in this
election.
Ken Johnsen is leaving the ExCom
after many years of service. Ken served on the ExCom and
as Group treasurer for 12 years, and he and his wife
Wilma hosted our newsletter mailing parties in their
Worthington home for over 10 years. They both say they
enjoyed meeting and working with the volunteers who
helped at the parties. The Johnsens are life members of
the Sierra Club. Besides volunteering for the Group, Ken
volunteers at the Ohio Environmental Council and has
been a volunteer with The Nature Conservancy, where he
did field work and tree planting. At age 81, Ken will
continue as our Publications Chair. Thanks so much for
all you have done, Ken!

Pat Marida is also leaving the
ExCom—read more about this in Cyane Gresham’s article in
this issue. Continuing on the ExCom are Barb
Hykes, David Greene, Bill Myers and George
Shellenbarger. At the January ExCom meeting Dave
Erb, our past chair of the Transportation and Planned
Growth Subcommittee, was selected to fill the ExCom
position left by the resignation of Fawn Langerman, who
is continuing her studies at OSU’s College of Medicine.
