Dawes Arboretum is located 35
miles east of Columbus on SR 13, 3 miles north of I-70
(Exit 132) or 5 miles south of Newark. For more

The following events are free:
Sat., May 7 - Walk Among Azaleas,
10-11:30 am, Visitor Center, reservation required. Take
a walk through the enchanting Azalea Glen with Richard
Larson, propagator at The Arboretum. The glen should be
a riot of colors
Saturdays, May 7 & 14 - Bird
Walks, 8-10 am, Visitor’s Center deck. Warblers and
other colorful songbirds will be making their presence
known with their beautiful songs and vibrant colors.
Look at the wonders of spring bird migration.
Saturdays, May 7 & 14 - Spring
Wildflower Walks, 1-3 pm, Visitor’s Center deck. Come
see the fantastic show of flowers while strolling
through the deep woods. Every week a new flower blooms,
so there will be much to see!
Sat., May 21 - Plant Sale, 9 am-1
pm, Horticulture Complex. An incredible assortment of
rare trees and shrubs will be offered at reasonable
prices, most of which can’t be found in garden centers
and nurseries. Horticulturists will be on hand to answer
questions and offer advice.
Sat., June 18 - Poetry Under the
Leaves, 10 am – noon, Firelight Room, reservation
required. Take a hike through the grounds with our
mighty pens, allowing inspiration to find us where it
may. Later, over tea and cookies, share your mastery
with the group.
